What can I really say about Japandroids? Saturday night was my third time seeing them, with what was easily their biggest crowd yet here in Toronto. My throat is hoarse from singing along, my neck sore from headbanging and my pent-up angst seems to be gone for a moment. Truly a great feeling.
As an added bonus I went to check out the afterparty - hosted by Cadence Weapon and his DJ who were also extremely awesome at the show - and got to tell the dudes they played a wicked show. Best of all though, Dave was wearing a Hot Snakes shirt all night so I ran up to him and said, “Hey good show and whatever but more importantly: HOT SNAKES.” He just smiled a big goofy smile and then told me about how they went out of their way to see them twice, in Seattle and Portland.
